The Pontiggia Group

A story made up of individual people, a human and professional legacy that has gradually evolved into a shared vision.

The Pontiggia Group

A story built on great ideas and great people who, together, have created a solid and integrated project

In the beginning, it was a network of enterprises, each with its own expertise and specialisation. Today, we are one big company, Gruppo Pontiggia S.r.l., which bills itself as Europe’s only supply chain for the subcontracting of machinery and mechanical parts.

Gruppo Pontiggia

Company policy

The Group has opted to focus on the excellence of its products and services, the extreme expertise it has acquired in its numerous fields of operation, its safety and quality management systems and continuous staff training.

The Pontiggia Group enjoys a competitive advantage in the mechanical engineering sector thanks to a highly skilled, reliable corporate organisation and comprehensive range of products and services.

Over the years, the company has implemented an integrated Management System (safety, quality, training) that it continuously pursues and through which it undertakes to:

  • Achieve the complete satisfaction of all stakeholders: clients, employees, suppliers first and foremost.
  • Comply with legislative requirements and industry standards.
  • Continuously improve its company processes, enhancing the skills, performance and safety of its workers.
  • Increase its professionalism by providing ongoing training and implementing increasingly targeted industrial practices.
  • Promote a “culture of care” by maintaining a certified Safety Management System to reduce the risks associated with operations and protect health and safety in the workplace.

A unique and unified identity

Cutting-edge technology, high specialisation and an innovative vision converge in a unique and perfectly integrated industrial reality.

The new plant in Figino Serenza (Como – Italy) occupies more than 40,000 square metres and brings together a variety of technical and engineering skills, as well as in-depth experience acquired over more than 60 years in business, to create a state-of-the-art industrial centre.

Continuous evolution, the capacity to innovate and stay ahead of market demands, as well as a new, unified corporate identity make the Pontiggia Group an Italian and international benchmark of excellence for the industrial world.

History

“We can only teach what we know, strengthened by our experiences, all else risks becoming pure theory for its own sake.”

Giuliano Pontiggia

The history of the Pontiggia Group begins in 1963 when Pontiggia Antonio Carpenterie was founded in Alzate Brianza (CO) by the father of the current owners: Giuliano, Mariella, Carlo and Matteo.

The Pontiggia family’s exceptional innovative capacity led to rapid growth and the subsequent flourishing of new businesses.

Metal P srl was created in 1990 and specialises in the development and production of industrial safety guards. This was followed in 1997 by the founding of Allplex srl, a company specialising in the numerically controlled machining of metals and polymers.

The Group continued to grow and, in 2004, 3DP srl was founded, a company dedicated to medium-light metalworking, and in 2012, FP Technology, specialising in machine assembly.

All of these companies are now united under one roof: Gruppo Pontiggia srl.

In 2019, The Pontiggia family purchased and redeveloped a 40,000 square-metre plot in the municipality of Figino Serenza (Como), on which the Group’s new headquarters would be built at the end of 2021.

The historical site in Alzate Brianza, where the laser cutting, bending and metalworking departments are located, was nonetheless maintained.

Today, the Pontiggia Group is a fast-growing firm with over 250 employees, a leader in its industry, and unique to its kind: it is Europe’s only complete supply chain for machine subcontracting.

It is joined by SIm srl, founded in 2011, which specialises in machinery safety advice, and Como-Lighting, formed in 2014, which focuses on designing lighting solutions.

These independent companies now constitute the Group’s network of enterprises.
